SUNNYSIDE, WA – A 29-year-old man was killed Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle on an Interstate 82 onramp, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred at 10:25 p.m. on the eastbound I-82 onramp from Exit 69. Police identified the victim as Jorge Estrada Martinez, of Sunnyside. He was on the shoulder of the onramp when he was hit by a 2016 Honda Pilot driven by 31-year-old Felix Angiano of Grandview. Angiano was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
The WSP said drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
