LAPWAI, ID – The Nez Perce Tribe Environmental Resource and Waste Management Air Quality Program reports that an air quality advisory remains in effect for the Nez Perce Reservation due to wildfire smoke. Conditions are fluctuating between “Moderate” and “Unhealthy” on the Air Quality Index, depending on fire and wind activity.
All areas of the reservation are impacted, with sensitive groups such as children, elders, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions urged to limit outdoor activity. No EPA or tribal burn permits will be approved during this period.
The advisory will remain in place until at least Monday, September 8, at 11 a.m., when the next update is expected.
