PULLMAN, WA – A 38-year-old Pullman man has been sentenced to prison for possessing child sexual abuse material.
Robert Keller previously pleaded guilty to three felony counts of 1st degree dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison by Whitman County Superior Court Judge Roger Sandberg Friday morning. The sentence is in the middle of the standard range for this case. Judge Sandberg took into account that Keller pleaded guilty, showed remorse and took responsibility for his actions when handing down the sentence.
The prosecutor’s office asked that Keller receive just under five years in prison which is the low end of the standard range. He was also placed on probation for three years.
Keller was initially charged with 19 felony counts following a Pullman Police Department investigation. Officers found hundreds of child sex abuse videos on his phone. Keller was arrested in November.
Keller’s criminal history includes a felony injury to a child conviction in Latah County in 2007. Court records show that he violated his probation after serving prison time in Idaho.
