Collision in Tekoa Sends Motorcyclist to Hospital via Life Flight with Serious Injuries

COLFAX, WA –  According to a press release, Saturday morning, at approximately 11am, the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision involving a passenger truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Poplar and Washington Street in Tekoa.

The incident occurred when 20-year-old Bryce Casey of Rosalia, operating a motorcycle,
attempted to pass a turning vehicle in the intersection. Casey struck the vehicle, resulting
in his ejection from the motorcycle. He sustained serious injuries and was airlifted via
Life Flight to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for treatment.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. The Whitman
County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the collision. At this time it
appears both speed and unsafe passing were factors in the collision.
