National Office Tabs Lindner NAIA Volleyball Defender of the Week

KANSAS CITY, MO – Karissa Lindner was recognized on the national level for her dynamic play over the weekend as the NAIA Volleyball Defender of the Week. The junior is the first LC State Volleyball player to earn a national weekly award since 2018.

Lindner shattered the LC State single-match record with a staggering 15 blocks against No. 19 Southern Oregon on Friday. The previous record was 11. The junior middle blocker had eight blocks in the first two sets alone and continued to dominate against one of the top teams in the NAIA. She added four more against Oregon Tech to bring her weekly average to 2.11 per set.

Her efforts helped the Warriors defeat SOU in a thrilling five-set contest and OIT in four sets for key Cascade Conference victories.

The last Warrior Volleyball to be recognized by the NAIA did so seven years ago this week when Rachel Gregg was named the NAIA Attacker of the Week.

With 29 blocks already this season, Lindner is 18 away from 200 in her career with 182.
