Western Washington man Identified as Suspect in Uniontown Break-In, Attempted ATM Theft

UNIONTOWN, WA – The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in connection with a break-in and attempted theft of an ATM in Uniontown last month.

Deputies, working with law enforcement agencies across the region, identified 42-year-old Eric B. Wright as a suspect early in the investigation. Authorities tracked Wright to a residence in Longview, Washington, where they found a black Dodge Challenger matching the one used in the incident. The vehicle was confirmed to have been stolen out of Billings, Montana.

Investigators also discovered another stolen vehicle and a stolen trailer at the property where Wright was living. The trailer was identified as one reported stolen from Garfield, Washington, in 2024.

Wright is facing additional charges in Whitman and Latah counties for unrelated cases, as well as federal charges connected to a regional property crime spree dating back to early 2024.

A warrant for Wright’s arrest has been issued in Whitman County Superior Court. The case remains ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
