Fraud Alert Issued by Asotin County Sheriff’s Office

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving a company calling itself “Asphalt Paving.”

According to the sheriff’s office, a resident was quoted $54 for pothole repairs on their driveway. Once the work began, the company performed additional work without consent, seal coating the entire driveway, and then demanded more than $6,000, which the resident paid.

Officials say the company is not licensed, bonded, or insured and appears to be fictitious. Residents are urged to take precautions when hiring contractors, including verifying licenses, researching companies, and avoiding high-pressure tactics or “limited-time offers.”

Undersheriff Blake Richards advised anyone who believes they have been approached by a scammer or fallen victim to fraud to contact the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office.
