Future Coug Day Draws Nearly 900 Visitors to WSU Homecoming

PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University hosted Future Coug Day during Homecoming Weekend, drawing nearly 900 visitors to campus. The event, held for the first time since 2016, included tours, academic open houses, and attendance at the Cougar football game.

According to WSU, about 400 of the attendees were prospective students. More than half were admitted during or shortly after the event, totaling over 200 new applicants.

Future Coug Day was organized through a partnership between WSU Athletics and the university’s enrollment office. Visitors also attended WSU’s 36–13 football win against San Diego State, with counselors from high schools and community colleges hosted in the Gesa Field Press Box.

The university said outreach for the event began in February with postcards and emails promoting fall activities.
