BOISE, ID – An Ada County District Court judge has dismissed all claims in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by former deputy attorney general Daphne Huang against the Idaho Office of the Attorney General.
Judge Jonathan Medema issued the ruling on Friday, stating that Huang failed to prove her allegations. The case was dismissed with prejudice, which prevents it from being refiled.
The lawsuit centered on Huang’s termination from the Attorney General’s office. In its decision, the court concluded there was no reasonable basis for the claims that the Attorney General’s office violated state law or the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Attorney General Raúl Labrador said the ruling confirms his office acted within the law, adding that the court found no merit in the allegations.
The dismissal also means the court determined the Attorney General’s office did not violate the Idaho Protection of Public Employees Act in its decision to terminate Huang’s employment.
