WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump announced Monday that U.S. military forces carried out a second kinetic strike targeting drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
According to the President, the strike targeted individuals from Venezuela who were transporting narcotics in international waters. Trump stated that three men identified as narcoterrorists were killed in the strike. No U.S. forces were injured.
In his statement, Trump said the individuals were involved in transporting illegal narcotics to the United States and described the cartels as a threat to U.S. national security, foreign policy, and vital interests.
The President added a warning directed at drug traffickers, stating that U.S. forces would pursue those transporting drugs to the United States.
This marks the second such strike ordered by the President.
