Crime Prevention Seminar Scheduled in Asotin

ASOTIN, WA – A free community seminar on crime prevention and personal safety will be offered Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Asotin County Fire District #1. The session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is open to teenagers and adults.

The seminar, titled Refuse To Be A Victim, is designed to provide practical safety strategies that help participants recognize and avoid potential threats. It is not a firearms class but instead emphasizes situational awareness and common-sense prevention methods that can be applied at home, in vehicles, while traveling, and in the use of technology.

The program has been widely used across the country since the 1990s and is supported by many law enforcement professionals for its focus on reducing opportunities for crime.

To register, please visit http://refuse.nra.org/find-a-seminar.aspx and search for the class. The seminar will be led by NRA Refuse To Be A Victim Instructor Chief Monte Renzelman, who can be contacted at 509-243-4411 extension 1 or via email at Mrenzelm
