All-Women Vocal Group Lyyra to Open 40th Year of Auditorium Chamber Music Series Sept. 25

MOSCOW, ID —  Lyyra, an all-women vocal group, will open the 40th season of the Auditorium Chamber Music Series (ACMS) with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the University of Idaho Administration Building Auditorium in Moscow.

“It’s been a long time since a vocal group was featured at ACMS, and it’s very exciting to welcome Lyyra for the first time at this year’s season opener,” ACMS manager Navin Chettri said. “I look forward to hearing their music, which spans a wide range of genres from classical to contemporary and pop, offering something for music fans of various tastes.”

With velvety richness and star-like brilliance, Lyyra showcases the full spectrum of women’s vocal artistry across genres. This vibrant group is redefining the role of upper-voice ensembles, creating world-class musical experiences that inspire and elevate the choral landscape.

“This season is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the ACMS,” Eneida Larti, director of ACMS and associate professor of piano, said. “Welcoming Lyyra to open this milestone season with a program that spans 400 years of music, from early works to the present, is a wonderful way to honor that legacy while looking toward the future.”

Tickets are $25 for the general public, $20 for seniors, $10 for U of I students and free for children 12 and under. They can be purchased at uitickets.com, the Bruce M. Pitman Center box office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and at the door an hour before the concert begins (card only).

Since 1986, the Auditorium Chamber Music Series has presented some of the world’s finest small ensembles in the beautiful neo-Gothic auditorium in the heart of U of I’s campus. Four ensembles visit the Palouse each year, performing for the series and enriching the region through school residencies, informal performances in community venues and masterclasses.
