MOSCOW, ID – The University of Idaho will launch the 40th season of its Auditorium Chamber Music Series (ACMS) with a performance by the all-women vocal group Lyyra. The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Administration Building Auditorium.

This marks the first time in several years that a vocal ensemble has opened the series. ACMS manager Navin Chettri said organizers are excited to feature Lyyra’s wide-ranging repertoire. “It’s been a long time since a vocal group was featured at ACMS, and it’s very exciting to welcome Lyyra for the first time at this year’s season opener,” Chettri said. “Their music spans a wide range of genres from classical to contemporary and pop, offering something for music fans of various tastes.”

The ensemble is known for its velvety sound and versatility, redefining the role of upper-voice ensembles with performances that highlight women’s vocal artistry across multiple styles. ACMS director Eneida Larti said Lyyra’s program is fitting for this milestone year. “Welcoming Lyyra to open this milestone season with a program that spans 400 years of music, from early works to the present, is a wonderful way to honor that legacy while looking toward the future,” she said.

Tickets are $25 for the general public, $20 for seniors, and $10 for University of Idaho students. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at uitickets.com, at the Bruce M. Pitman Center box office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and at the door an hour before the performance (card only).

The Auditorium Chamber Music Series has been a cultural mainstay since 1986, hosting world-class ensembles in the historic neo-Gothic auditorium at the heart of the Moscow campus. Each season brings four ensembles to the Palouse, with outreach efforts that include school residencies, community performances, and masterclasses.
