BOISE, ID — Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced that a 19-year-old Rexburg man has been sentenced for possessing child pornography following an investigation led by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit.
Kyle Allen was convicted of two felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material. He was sentenced on September 15 by Seventh District Judge Steven Boyce to 10 years in prison, with 2.5 years fixed and 8.5 years indeterminate. Allen will also be required to register as a sex offender under Idaho law.
The case began in September 2023 when the ICAC Unit received a CyberTip from Discord, reporting that an account linked to Allen had accessed child sexual abuse material. After obtaining search warrants, investigators seized Allen’s devices, uncovering about 20 files of explicit material involving minors.
“This case is a reminder that predators are actively seeking out images of children being exploited,” said Attorney General Labrador. “We will relentlessly pursue every predator who exploits Idaho’s children through these disturbing crimes. I’m proud of the partnerships we’ve built statewide that make these prosecutions possible and make Idaho families safer.”
Detective Korey Payne of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, working as a full-time ICAC affiliate, led the investigation with assistance from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Rexburg Police Department, and Idaho Falls Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorneys General Madison Allen Gourley and James Haws.
Authorities encourage anyone with information on child exploitation to contact local law enforcement, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
