PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University employees across the system will see salary increases beginning Oct. 1, the university announced this week.
Faculty members are eligible for merit-based raises of up to 1.4%, following the process outlined in the Faculty Manual. A separate pool, the President’s Excellence Fund, will also provide annual adjustments for faculty who have made significant contributions to their departments, the university, and their professional fields. Some faculty, including those hired after Dec. 31, 2024, and those earning more than $250,000 in pro-rated base salary, will not qualify for the raises.
Administrative professionals will also receive a 1.4% increase effective Oct. 1. Retirees on a retire-rehire appointment qualify, though exceptions include athletic coaches, those making more than $250,000 in pro-rated salary, and individuals working less than .5 full-time equivalent.
Academic student employees covered under the WSU/UAW 2024–26 collective bargaining agreement will see a 3% raise in pay and hourly rates. Civil service employees already received a 3% salary increase earlier this summer through state legislative funding.
The raises mark WSU’s latest effort to support faculty, staff, and student workers, with adjustments to be reflected in October paychecks. Implementation details are available on the university’s Human Resource Services website.
