WSU to Test System-Wide Emergency Alerts Oct. 1

PULLMAN, WA — Washington State University announced that it will conduct its first system-wide test of the emergency alert system on Wednesday, October 1.

Alerts will be sent by email and to phone numbers registered in the Everbridge system. Tests will be staggered throughout the day, starting at 8 a.m. at the Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center and ending at 3 p.m. at the Puyallup Research and Extension Center.

WSU recently shifted from an opt-in to an opt-out system, meaning alerts are automatically sent to all WSU email addresses. More information is available through WSU’s emergency management staff and the Everbridge overview page.
