LEWISTON, ID – LC State Women’s Basketball has its first signee for the 2026-27 season in Sammamish, Wash., native Kiana Skogstad. The guard out of Bellevue Christian High School will join the Warriors next fall.
“Kiana is a fantastic competitor,” coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “Every time she stepped on the court this summer, I knew I was going to see her 100 percent effort. She is a fantastic on-ball defender and can pressure the ball the full length of the court. She is extremely quick with the basketball and can score the basketball in a variety of different ways. She has excellent court vision and a very high basketball IQ. Kiana is going to make a huge impact on the court for us next season.”
Skogstad averages 11 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals per game and shoots 46% from the floor. She helped Bellevue Christian to the WIAA 1A State title in 2025 and helped guide the team to three straight league and district championships. Skogstad is a three-time First-Team All-Nisqually League honoree and was named the league MVP as a freshman.
As a junior, Skogstad was voted to the All-State Tournament team and MVP of the championship game. She also competes in track and field where she placed fifth at State as part of the 4x200m relay.
“I chose LC State Women’s Basketball because right away, I felt a sense of belonging,” Skogstad said. “The coaches and players were so welcoming, and the team is like a family. They all love the game, push each other to be better, and have fun while doing it. I also love how much the community supports the program.”
