Port of Lewiston Seeks Applicants as Commissioner Klemm Announces Retirement

LEWISTON, ID – The Port of Lewiston has announced that Commissioner Jerry Klemm will retire from his position on January 31, 2026, leaving a vacancy on the Board of Commissioners.

Klemm, who represents District 3, has served constituents in the southwestern end of Lewiston and the more rural parts of Nez Perce County. His current term is scheduled to end December 31, 2026. The Port will appoint an interim commissioner to serve the remainder of the term until the next election.

The successful appointee will serve until the November 3, 2026 general election, when the seat will be decided for a full six-year term.

Applicants must be registered voters and residents of District 3 in Nez Perce County. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 27, and can be submitted by email to scott@portoflewiston.com or in person at the Port’s office, 1626 6th Avenue North, Lewiston, ID 83501.
