LEWISTON, ID – The U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program has officially kicked off its 2025 campaign in Lewiston. For 78 years, Toys for Tots has provided holiday gifts to children in need across the country, including those in the Lewis-Clark Valley.
Last year, the Lewiston campaign distributed more than 8,700 toys to 1,905 children across Nez Perce, Clearwater, Latah, Lewis, Idaho, Asotin, Garfield, and Whitman counties. Nationally, the program provided more than 31 million toys to 13 million children.
The local campaign, led by Marine Corps Sgt. Jason Brown is asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0–15, with an emphasis on items for older children, such as craft kits, Legos, makeup sets, Nerf guns, and fishing gear.
Applications for toy assistance will open the week before Thanksgiving, with details posted on the campaign’s Facebook page and website. Monetary donations may be made online or by mail, and dozens of donation sites are available throughout Lewiston, Clarkston, Moscow, Pullman, and surrounding communities.
On November 15, the Sgt. Maj. Linehan detachment of the Marine Corps League will also host a celebration in Lewiston marking the 250th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. The event will highlight Toys for Tots while honoring Marine Corps history.
