BOISE, ID – The Idaho State Tax Commission has launched a new online tool to help families navigate the state’s Parental Choice Tax Credit program. The website, MySchoolChoice.idaho.gov, went live Friday and provides parents with resources to determine eligibility for education-related tax credits.
The Parental Choice Tax Credit program offers financial support to families with students outside the public school system. Eligible parents may receive up to $5,000 per student, and up to $7,500 per student with a qualifying disability.
According to the Tax Commission, priority will be given to families whose modified adjusted gross income does not exceed 300 percent of the 2024 federal poverty level.
The new site includes a step-by-step eligibility checklist and other resources intended to make the process easier for families seeking assistance with education costs.
For more details and to access the checklist, parents can visit MySchoolChoice.idaho.gov. Media inquiries can be directed to the Idaho State Tax Commission at (208) 334-7513 or by email at tax-newsroom@tax.idaho.gov.
