SEL Highlights Global Manufacturing and Innovation for Manufacturing Day 2025

PULLMAN, WA – Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is marking Manufacturing Day 2025 with the debut of a new video that showcases the company’s product development process and vertically integrated manufacturing approach.

The video follows the journey from concept to installation, underscoring SEL’s focus on quality, reliability, and innovation in building digital products that safeguard electric power systems worldwide. It highlights in-house component production, inline quality checks, and global support services—all aimed at ensuring rugged, defect-free products backed by SEL’s 10-year warranty.

“Our employee owners take pride in building products that meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and cybersecurity,” said Leith Sorenson, SEL’s senior vice president of manufacturing. “This video captures the spirit of collaboration, innovation and dedication that drives our mission to make electric power safer, more reliable and more economical.”

Manufacturing Day, observed annually on the first Friday of October, is designed to promote modern manufacturing careers and inspire future innovators. As part of the celebration, SEL will share its video with schools, educators, and community members, while also featuring production employee profiles on its social media platforms and engaging with students through its K-12 Education Outreach program.

Headquartered in Pullman and 100 percent employee-owned, SEL has been inventing and manufacturing products in the U.S. since 1984. The company now serves customers in 173 countries with technology that prevents blackouts and enhances power grid safety and reliability.
