AAA: Idaho Gas Prices Continue Gradual Decline

BOISE, ID — Idaho drivers are seeing modest relief at the gas pump, as the state’s average price for a gallon of regular gasoline dipped another two cents this week to $3.47, according to the latest report from AAA Idaho.

The state average is unchanged from a month ago and just one cent higher than this time last year. Nationally, gas prices held steady at $3.13 per gallon, seven cents less than last month and four cents cheaper than a year ago. Idaho currently ranks eighth-highest in the nation for fuel prices.

“Fuel demand is on the decline, but a sharp spike in the cost of crude oil may have briefly disrupted a more seasonal pattern,” said Matthew Conde, public affairs director for AAA Idaho. “Hopefully, falling gas prices will pick up speed as we head further into fall.”

The West Texas Intermediate crude oil benchmark is trading near $62 per barrel. Analysts say if crude oil prices continue to drop, gas prices are likely to follow.

According to the Energy Information Administration, refineries are operating at just over 91% capacity, about two percent lower than the previous week, as seasonal maintenance continues. Conde noted that while hurricane season has had minimal impact on fuel prices so far, any unplanned refinery outages could still affect supply.

AAA encourages drivers to use TOP TIER gasoline and maintain their vehicles regularly to preserve fuel efficiency and engine performance.

Average Idaho gas prices (as of October 6, 2025):

• Idaho Falls – $3.33
• Lewiston – $3.42
