LEWISTON, ID — Nez Perce County will host its annual free firewood event from October 9 through October 13, 2025, offering residents an opportunity to collect firewood at no cost.

Logs will be available at the lower level of Palmer Parking, located at 42415 Waha Road, south of Lewiston. The wood comes from logs removed from county road rights-of-way and other county properties.

The available firewood will vary in length, and participants will need to cut the logs on-site before transporting them. County officials remind residents to follow all safety protocols while cutting and loading wood, to be courteous to others using the site, and to help maintain the area by keeping it free of trash and debris.
