Police Arrest Clarkston Woman Who Allegedly Used False Name to Dodge Felony Warrant

CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston woman accused of using another person’s identity during a 2024 traffic stop was arrested this week, more than a year later.

According to police, 41-year-old Tia Mae Reece was stopped in June 2024 for driving without a valid operator’s license. During the stop, she reportedly provided a false name and birthdate, which were later determined not to be her own.

Two days later, after she had been released from jail, the Washington State Patrol confirmed through fingerprint records that the woman booked under the false identity was actually Reece. Jail staff compared the booking photo with Reece’s existing record and verified the match.

Investigators learned Reece had an active felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance and believe that led her to use a false name. Multiple attempts were made to contact her at her Clarkston address over the following months without success.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, deputies encountered Reece during a traffic stop on Highland Avenue. She allegedly ran from the vehicle but was caught after a short foot pursuit and taken into custody. According to court documents, the following day, she admitted to providing false information.

Reece was booked into the Asotin County Jail. She is facing charges that include Identity Theft in the Second Degree, Making a False or Misleading Statement to Law Enforcement, Obstruction of Law Enforcement, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Obey, and Driving Without a Valid Operator’s License, in addition to the drug charge associated with her felony outstanding warrant.
