Heads-Up for Drivers: Spokane Construction Projects Begin Tomorrow – What to Know Before You Travel

SPOKANE, WA – Crews continue work installing a new water transmission main from the Low Water Pressure System to the Northwest Terrace Water Pressure System, improving water reliability and supporting future growth. This is the second phase of a larger initiative to enhance water, sewer, stormwater, and traffic infrastructure in the area. The project requires significant work near the Nine Mile Rd. and Rifle Club Rd. intersection Oct. 13-17. Drivers should slow down, follow flaggers instructions, and be alert for everyone’s safety.

What to Expect:

Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 13 & 14

  • Overnights: Nine Mile Rd./Hwy 291 be reduced to ONE TRAVEL LANE and flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Rifle Club Rd. will be closed between Nine Mile Rd. and Old Fort Dr. with local/emergency access only via Woodside Ave. and Wind River Dr.
  • Rifle Club Ct. will be closed between Nine Mile Rd. and Oxford Ln. with local/emergency access only.

Wednesday-Friday, Oct. 15-17:

  • Nine Mile Rd. will continue to have lane reductions in both directions between Woodside Ave. and Wind River Dr.

Qualchan Rd. between Cheney-Spokane Rd. and Hwy 195

City of Spokane Street Department will be doing a heavy maintenance project on Qualchan Rd. starting Monday, Oct. 16 between Cheney-Spokane Rd. and Hwy 195. It is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Oct. 22. Drivers should slow down and be alert for everyone’s safety.

What to Expect:

  • Lane reductions and intermittent short-term closures.
  • Add extra time to get to your destination and avoid peak travel times when possible.
