Asotin County Lifts Burning Ban; Fall Burning Season Opens October 15

ASOTIN COUNTY, WA – The Asotin County Board of Commissioners has lifted the emergency burning ban for unincorporated areas, effective Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

According to Asotin County Fire Marshal Karst Riggers, the Controlled Burning Season will run from October 15 through December 15, 2025, with burning allowed between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Fires must be completely out by 4:00 p.m.

Burn piles are limited to 4 feet wide by 4 feet long by 3 feet high. Residents are encouraged to check the open burning line at 509-243-2002 before burning to confirm conditions remain safe.

A free yard waste disposal program is available at the Asotin County Regional Landfill as an alternative to burning. For details, call 509-758-1965.
