SHOSHONE COUNTY, ID — A woman was found dead following a single-vehicle crash along the Coeur d’Alene River over the weekend.

According to the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to milepost 13.5 on the Coeur d’Alene River Road, where they located a vehicle that had gone off the west side of the roadway. A woman was found in the driver’s seat and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on evidence observed at the crash site, investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor. The driver is believed to have failed to maintain her lane before leaving the roadway.

The Idaho State Police were called to investigate the fatal crash.
