PULLMAN, WA — Washington State University has announced that Wednesday, Oct. 15, will be the final day to submit central graphic design and printing projects before the university’s in-house design services permanently close later this month.
The closure, effective Oct. 31, comes amid system-wide budget reductions following major state and federal funding cuts. According to the university, the $1.8 million in reductions will also include discontinuation of KWSU-TV and other operational changes impacting staff before the end of the year.
CougPrints Plus will continue operating and expand its offerings to include stationery, business cards, and certain wide-format printing options. For larger projects exceeding the $10,000 direct buy limit, WSU has published a list of approved vendors, and a Request for Qualifications and Quotations process is underway to expand vendor options for design, printing, and copy-editing services.
Until a new process for HTML email design and distribution is identified, departments are advised to contact David Feston, while inquiries about smaller design and printing projects under $10,000 should be directed to Ed Sala.
More information is available on the WSU Insider website and through CougPrints Plus.
