Clarkston Man Arrested After Burglary at Dave’s Golf

CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston man was arrested on Wednesday after authorities say he broke into Dave’s Golf at 725 Port Way, damaging property and taking merchandise, some of which was contaminated with his blood.

Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Kyle Light. He was taken into custody at 812 Bridge Street and booked on charges including first-degree burglary, second-degree malicious mischief, third-degree theft, and attempted vehicle theft.

Officers responded after the store manager discovered a broken window, blood on the glass, and signs of a possible attempted theft. Video surveillance reportedly showed Light entering the store through the broken window, moving through the premises, and leaving with items. Investigators reported that numerous items inside and outside the shop, including golf clubs, merchandise, a moped, pens, and packaging, were smeared or spotted with Light’s blood.

Authorities said Light was armed with a knife during the burglary but discarded it inside a golf bag before leaving. Evidence collected at the scene included the knife, a key found at the shop, and photos documenting the damage and blood contamination. Damage and losses are estimated at roughly $3,900, not including additional merchandise still being inventoried.

Light was later located by officers with an injury consistent with the blood found at the scene. He was booked into the Asotin County Jail and remained in custody as of Wednesday morning.
