KANSAS CITY, MO – The LC State Volleyball team climbed to its highest regular season ranking since 2011 on Wednesday at No. 11 in the NAIA. The Warriors, with a record of 12-3 overall and 9-3 in Cascade Conference play, host a top 25 matchup on Friday when No. 18 Northwest (Wash.) visits the P1FCU Activity Center.
LC State is 3-1 since the last poll with the lone loss against then-No. 4 Corban (Ore.). The Warriors defeated Bushnell (Ore.), who joined the top 25 on Wednesday at No. 23, Oregon Tech and (RV) Southern Oregon. LC State is tied with Corban for second in the CCC standings.
The Warriors are second as a team in the Cascade Conference in digs per set (15.50) and third in blocks per set (2.21). Juliauna Forgach Aguilar leads the CCC and is fifth in the NAIA in kills per set (4.41) and Teagan Scott is at the top of the conference in assists per set (8.85). Karissa Lindner ranks second in the CCC and seventh in the NAIA in blocks per set (1.35) and Ella Stosich is third in the conference in digs per set (4.45).
With the rankings released on Wednesday, the CCC now has six teams in the top 25 and two more receiving votes. Eastern Oregon remained No. 1 as one of two undefeated teams left in the NAIA and Corban fell to No. 8. LC State is the third highest ranked team in the conference; Northwest jumped up to No. 18 and College of Idaho fell to No. 19. Bushnell is the newest CCC team to join the ranking while Walla Walla (Wash.) and Southern Oregon are both receiving votes.
