LEWISTON, ID – LC State Women’s Track and Field added its first student-athlete for the 2026-27 roster in thrower Ila Wilkinson. The Grangeville High School senior will join the Warriors next fall.
“We are looking forward to having Ila in our program,” coach Mike Collins said. “She is very excited about being here and that motivation going into a young lady that has already shown some good success is exciting. Her discus marks are good and with a senior year in front of her we think she will start approaching what would be national qualifying marks at our level. I am sure she is motivated to win a State title as well seeing how she has just missed the top spot the last couple of years. She is a great student and great person, and a perfect fit for our program.”
Wilkinson competes in the shot put, discus and javelin at Grangeville and was named the team’s Field Athlete of the Year as a freshman and sophomore. She was voted the Bulldog MVP last season after a standout season that resulted in career-best marks. She finished as the runner-up in the discus at State last season.
Wilkinson is the school record holder in the javelin (89’7”) and ranks third all-time at Grangeville in the shot put (36’6.5”) and discus (120’2”).
