PULLMAN, WA – The Pullman Regional Hospital Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to approve a $24.8 million guaranteed maximum price (GMP), presented by Bouten Construction Company, at the October 1, 2025 monthly public meeting. The Patient Care Expansion Project, estimated at $41 million, includes $24.8 in remaining construction costs, and $16.2 million in preconstruction services, early electrical procurement, medical equipment and taxes.
In 2022, Pullman community voted to approve a $27.5 million bond with a 76% super majority to help fund the project. Philanthropy, hospital operations, and financing will fund the remainder of the project.
The 3-phased, 3-year project will break ground on November 11, 2025 and is estimated to be completed by late 2027. The remodel of the hospital will expand access to same-day procedures, imaging and lab services as well as surgery and emergency services through a 33,000 square foot remodel and footprint addition to the hospital. Phase 4 of the project will include the construction of a new medical office building behind the hospital on hospital owned property.
The hospital will remain open during all phases of construction.
Bouten Construction was approved by the board as the hospital’s contractor in 2024, through a general contractor and construction manager (GC/CM) partnership. Design West Architects was selected and approved by the board in 2024 as the project architect partner.
“On behalf of our company, thank you,” said Nick Gonzales, Vice President of Healthcare for Bouten Construction. “Everyone is on the same team with a common goal of serving our community. We see ourselves as an extension of Pullman Regional Hospital and will take the same level of care when we’re in your facility as you do your patients.”
“This project will improve access to our wonderful hospital and help us grow the Pullman Regional healthcare system,” said Tricia Grantham, President of the Pullman Regional Hospital Board of Commissioners. “We’re glad to have partners in Bouten who understand how special this is.”
