Suspect Arrested in Downtown Spokane Fatal Shooting

SPOKANE, WA — Spokane Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last weekend in downtown Spokane.

According to the Spokane Police Department, 32-year-old Andre D. Moore was taken into custody without incident on the morning of October 17. Patrol officers assigned to the downtown area and detectives with the department’s Special Investigations Unit located Moore, who was later booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.

The arrest follows an extensive investigation into a shooting on October 12 near the 600 block of South McClellan Street, where officers responding shortly before 1 a.m. discovered a man deceased inside a vehicle. Initial reports indicated that a suspect approached the car and began firing before fleeing on foot.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit and Special Investigations Unit spent days reviewing evidence and canvassing the area for video footage, ultimately identifying Moore as a suspect. Police have not released further details regarding a possible motive.
