VANCOUVER, WA — Port of Lewiston General Manager Scott Corbitt was recognized last week with the Distinguished Service Award from the Pacific Northwest Waterways Association (PNWA) during the organization’s annual convention in Vancouver.
The award honors individuals whose leadership and dedication advance PNWA’s mission to support federal policies and funding that enhance regional economic development and river commerce.
PNWA Executive Director Neil Maunu commended Corbitt’s long-standing work in maritime advocacy, particularly his leadership in defending the Lower Snake River Dams.
“For us who work day in and day out on maritime issues affecting the region, Scott serves as a model example of getting stuff done,” Maunu said. “Scott holds his ground on the importance of the Lower Snake River Dams for his Port, his community, and for the region as a whole.”
While accepting the award, Corbitt credited his staff and Port Commissioners for their collective efforts.
“I have a small and mighty team that executes above their weight and has the ability to really get things done,” Corbitt said. “This belongs to them and the Commission, who guides our planning and efforts.”
Alongside the award, Corbitt was also elected to the PNWA Executive Committee, which oversees the organization’s operations and long-term goals. He fills the position previously held by retiring Port of Lewiston Commissioner Jerry Klemm.
