BOISE, ID — Investigators with the Idaho Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit have arrested a Nampa man for alleged sexual exploitation of a child following a CyberTip report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
According to the Idaho Attorney General’s Office, the CyberTip was submitted by Snapchat on October 13, 2025, indicating “newly produced and/or homemade content” that suggested recent hands-on abuse of a child. The ICAC Task Force acted on the report within 24 hours, leading to the arrest of 25-year-old Steven Vasquez the following day.
Vasquez faces six counts of production and six counts of distribution of child sexual exploitation material. During his initial appearance in Canyon County, his bond was set at $2 million.
“Our ICAC investigators acted within 24 hours to stop alleged ongoing abuse and protect a child,” said Attorney General Raúl Labrador. “Swift action by our growing statewide network of law enforcement partners makes Idaho safer for children. We will continue working relentlessly with every agency committed to defending our most vulnerable from those who would exploit them.”
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Nampa Police Department and its Specialized Enforcement Team, the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and School Resource Officers from the Middleton Police Department and Nampa Police Department.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children to contact local law enforcement, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
The Idaho ICAC Task Force, led by the Attorney General’s Office, is a statewide coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating and prosecuting individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children. The charges are accusations only, and Vasquez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
