Two Dead After Pickup Overturns in Crash in Southeast Idaho

FORT HALL, ID — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two men Tuesday morning near Fort Hall.

According to ISP, the crash occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. on October 21 along northbound Interstate 15 near milepost 77. A Peterbilt semi-truck and a Ford F450 flatbed pickup were both traveling north when the pickup left the roadway and overturned.

The driver and passenger of the Ford pickup, identified as a 42-year-old man from Rupert and a 44-year-old man from Paul, were not wearing seatbelts and died at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 75-year-old man from McCammon, was wearing a seatbelt and was not transported for medical treatment.

Northbound traffic on Interstate 15 was periodically blocked while emergency crews responded. ISP said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The collision occurred within Idaho State Police District 5, which covers southeastern Idaho counties including Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power.
