Dump Station Fee Introduced at Idaho State Parks

BOISE, ID – Visitors to Idaho’s state parks will soon see a new charge for using dump stations. The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) announced that a $10 fee will be implemented to help maintain and operate the facilities.

According to IDPR, state parks are funded directly through user fees, including daily parking passes, annual park passports, and donations. The department said the new charge is necessary to offset the costs of maintaining and emptying dump stations across the state.

“While nobody likes a fee, this will allow us to cover the costs associated with maintenance, upkeep, and the emptying out of these stations,” the agency stated in a recent announcement.

The department thanked visitors for their continued support and stewardship, noting that the funds help sustain access to clean and well-maintained recreation areas.
