MOSCOW, ID – The University of Idaho has joined forces with Google to provide students with free access to advanced artificial intelligence tools, training, and career development resources through the new Google AI for Education Accelerator program.
The partnership gives U of I students no-cost access to Google’s AI-powered platforms, AI training modules, and Google Career Certificates designed to prepare learners for emerging job markets.
“Partnering with Google brings our new strategic plan to life,” said U of I President Scott Green. “AI is woven into each of our goals for the rest of the decade — from how we teach and learn to how we conduct research and serve Idaho. Giving Vandals early access to Google’s most advanced AI tools helps them lead that change, not just adapt to it.”
Under the collaboration, students will gain access to:
- Google Career Certificates, offering credentials in fields like cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT support, recognized by more than 150 major employers including Google.
- AI training courses, covering responsible AI use, prompt design, and practical skills for both academic and career applications.
- Gemini and NotebookLM, AI-driven tools that assist with writing, research, study organization, and presentation preparation.
Lisa Gevelber, founder of Grow with Google, said the partnership continues the company’s mission to expand access to technology-driven skills.
