Man Charged With Rape of a Child in Asotin County Following Discovery of Video

CLARKSTON, WA – Court documents state that a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a reported child sexual assault after Clarkston police were notified of a concerning video discovered on a mobile phone earlier this month.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Clarkston Police Department, officers were dispatched on Oct. 16 for a report of a possible sexual offense involving a 4-year-old child. The reporting party told police she located a video on a shared phone that allegedly showed inappropriate contact between the child and the suspect, identified in court records as Victor Daniel Gonsorowski.

When officers arrived, they spoke with multiple individuals at the residence and were shown the device containing the video. The phone was seized as evidence, the affidavit states. Officers confirmed the video file was dated Oct. 11 and appeared to be recorded inside the home.

By the time officers arrived, Gonsorowski had reportedly left the area on foot. Due to what police described as the severity of the allegations and the suspect’s unknown location, a regional bulletin was issued to surrounding agencies to assist in locating him, according to the affidavit.

Gonsorowski was taken into custody and booked into the Asotin County Jail last week.  His bond has been set at $100,000.
