KOOSKIA, ID — A Kooskia man was arrested twice this month after failing to comply with Idaho’s sex offender registration requirements and violating probation, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies first arrested 41-year-old Ronald Lee Emerson of Kooskia on October 21, 2025, after he failed to respond to his quarterly verification letter confirming his current address and information as required under Idaho law. Emerson was charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
A week later, on October 28, deputies were advised of a warrant issued for Emerson for violating his probation stemming from the earlier arrest. Around 4:55 p.m., deputies located a vehicle driven by Emerson on Ridgewood Drive outside of Kooskia and conducted a traffic stop. Emerson was taken into custody on the felony probation violation warrant.
Authorities said Emerson was also charged again with felony failure to register as a sex offender, as he remained non-compliant with registration requirements following his initial arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office said the arrest reflects its ongoing commitment to enforcing registration laws designed to protect community safety through accurate tracking of registered offenders.
The charges are allegations, and Emerson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
