PULLMAN, WA — Pullman Regional Hospital is expanding its surgical team with the addition of two acute care surgeons, Dr. Justine Gavagan and Dr. Kathryn Jones, joining the practice at Pullman Surgery and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Gavagan brings more than two decades of surgical experience, including 17 years in trauma surgery and the past five years focused on acute care at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana. She completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her surgical residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
She said she enjoys being able to make an immediate impact for patients during critical moments. “Surgery is a team sport, and I’m excited to be part of the team at Pullman Surgery and Gastroenterology,” Gavagan said.
Dr. Jones earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima. She completed both her internship and residency in general surgery at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri, and most recently practiced elective and acute care general surgery in southwest Oklahoma.
Jones said she looks forward to serving the community and helping patients feel empowered in their care. “I want my patients to feel safe, comfortable and fully informed,” she said.
Pullman Surgery and Gastroenterology provides general surgical and gastrointestinal care for the region, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures using Pullman Regional’s da Vinci Xi system. The practice includes medical director Dr. Nancy Panko, surgeon Dr. John Visger, gastroenterology specialist Dr. Justin Cochrane, and nurse practitioner Lisa Arrett.
Patients are seen on a referral basis, and the clinic is located within Pullman Regional Hospital on Bishop Boulevard.
