MOSCOW, ID – A home near downtown Moscow was heavily damaged by fire on Monday morning.
City of Moscow Volunteer Firefighters were called to the blaze on North Washington Street around 9:00. Two residents and their dogs and cats were able to evacuate the home safely. Volunteers had to chase the flames in the older home inside the walls and up into the attic.
No one was hurt. The Red Cross was called in to assist the fire victims. There’s no word yet on what caused the fire but Moscow Fire Chief Brian Nickerson believes it was accidental.
