BOISE, ID— The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is asking the public to weigh in on Avista Utilities’ 2024 energy efficiency program expenses, which the utility is seeking to have deemed prudently incurred.
The applications cover both electric and natural gas conservation programs funded by an energy-efficiency rider on customer bills. Avista’s programs provide rebates for energy-efficient upgrades—such as Energy Star-certified windows—and offer educational outreach to help customers reduce usage and costs.
Avista is requesting Commission approval of $17.27 million in electric program expenses and $2.28 million in natural gas program expenses, all incurred between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2024.
The Commission will accept written public comments through Jan. 15, 2026. Comments may be submitted through the Commission’s website, by email, or by mail. Each comment must include the commenter’s name, address, and the appropriate case number:
- AVU-E-25-12 for the electric energy efficiency program
- AVU-G-25-09 for the natural gas program
Those without computer access may mail comments to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission at P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83702. Copies must also be sent to Avista Utilities at the Spokane address listed in the filing.
