GARFIELD, WA – A Whitman County man was arrested early Wednesday morning following an investigation into suspected methamphetamine distribution in the Pullman and Garfield areas.
The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office says 67-year-old Lawrence K. Kriebel was contacted by investigators online, and monitored
communications that indicated he intended to meet with another individual to provide methamphetamine.
Deputies stopped Kriebel near Grinnell Road and State Route 27 outside of Palouse. During the stop, Kriebel admitted to having methamphetamine in his vehicle. Deputies recovered the drugs and related paraphernalia, which were concealed in a container under the back seat.
Kriebel cooperated with deputies throughout the investigation and was arrested without incident. He was transported to the Whitman County Jail and booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The investigation is ongoing.
