CORVALLIS, OR– Darian Herring earned her second Cascade Conference McDonald’s Player of the Week honor, presented by Urban Edge Network, on Monday when she was voted the Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Herring averaged a double-double over the weekend against some of the best teams in the NAIA with 15.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. The junior grabbed 12 boards in each contest and blocked 10 shots with three steals. Her defensive efforts led directly to 16 points and offensively she shot 42.4% from the field with nine assists. Herring helped LC State to a win over (RV) Shawnee State (Ohio) and narrow loss to No. 20 Rio Grande (Ohio) on the road.

This is the fifth weekly honor of Herring’s career and second this season.
