KANSAS CITY, MO – The Warrior women enter the final weekend of non-conference play as a top 10 team in the NAIA. LC State Women’s Basketball checked in at No. 10 in the latest NAIA Top 25, released by the national office on Wednesday.
The Warriors are 5-1 so far this season with the lone loss at the hands of now-No. 13 Rio Grande (Ohio). LC State has a tough weekend ahead at the Carroll College Thanksgiving Classic where it will face No. 16 Carroll (Mont.) and No. 15 Rocky Mountain (Mont.).
LC State ranks ninth in the NAIA in assists per game (19.8), 14th in field goal percentage (47.5%) and 17th in points per game (84.8). Lindsey Wilson is tied for second in the NAIA in field goal percentage (73.5%), Darian Herring is fourth in blocks per game (3.2), and Payton Hymas is fifth in assists per game (6.8). Herring is the only player in the Cascade Conference averaging a double-double so far this season with 12.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
Around the Cascade Conference, LC State is the top ranked team while Oregon Tech fell to No. 21. Corban (Ore.) joined the ranks at No. 22 and Southern Oregon, Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho are all receiving votes.
