MOSCOW, ID – Property tax bills in Latah County were mailed out by the treasurer’s office last week.

The due date to pay the property tax bill in full or the optional first half payment is December 22nd.  The optional second-half payment is due on June 22nd.

Latah County Treasurer BJ Swanson is making taxpayers aware of a judgment payment that is included in this year’s tax bills.  Avista Utilities and Idaho Power won a case against the State of Idaho.  The utility companies successfully claimed that the state should have assessed their property values the same as railroad parcels.  The judgment totals 13 million dollars, with Latah County property owners responsible for over 300,000 dollars.  The additional payment on the tax bill is listed under charges and credits.
