MOSCOW, ID — More than 1,000 Avista customers across Moscow, Troy, and Deary will lose power early Wednesday morning during a planned outage needed for maintenance work, according to a media alert from the utility.
Avista says approximately 1,015 electric customers along the Highway 8 corridor will be impacted. The outage is scheduled to begin at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, and is expected to last about one hour, ending around 5:30 a.m.
Affected areas include:
- Troy: Granlund Road, Clay Pit Road, Linderman Road, Auslam Road, Spring Valley Road
- Moscow: Kasper Road, Teare Road, Reams Road, Canyon Road, Cornwall Road, Juliene Way, and nearby neighborhoods
- Deary: Old Highway 8, Mount Deary Creek Road, Olson Loop, Pleasant Hill Road, Gun Club Road
In addition to the outage, Avista says the westbound lane of Highway 8 near 3390 Highway 8 in Moscow will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 7 a.m., with flaggers directing traffic.
Crews will be conducting maintenance on equipment in the area. Avista says the work is part of ongoing efforts to improve system reliability and safety.
