Local Volunteers to Honor Veterans During Wreaths Across America Ceremonies This Saturday

LEWISTON, ID — Local volunteers will gather this Saturday for the annual Wreaths Across America ceremonies at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston and Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston, part of a nationwide effort to honor veterans by placing wreaths on their graves.

The event, held each December, brings together families, veterans, civic groups, and community members to remember those who served. Organizers say all ages are welcome to participate, and no registration is required.

At Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens, the ceremony begins at 9 a.m., followed by wreath placement across the cemetery. A second ceremony will take place at Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston at 12 p.m., where volunteers will again assist in placing wreaths on veterans’ resting places.

Wreaths Across America’s mission is to “remember the fallen, honor those who served, and teach the next generation the value of freedom,” a message reflected in thousands of similar ceremonies across the country each year.

More information, including volunteer details and wreath sponsorship opportunities, is available on the Wreaths Across America website.
