WAHA, ID – Nez Perce County has announced a dedication open house for the Palmer Parking recreation area, located at 42415 Waha Road in Lewiston, Idaho. The event will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Through a grant from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, the county collaborated with local recreational groups and public safety organizations to enhance the site. The upgraded public area will now serve as a convenient launch point for accessing the southernmost public wilderness lands in Nez Perce County.

Residents are invited to attend the open house and meet with County Commissioners and public safety officials as the site is officially opened for public use. The county describes the project as a community effort aimed at providing greater access to outdoor recreation while supporting public safety and accessibility for all visitors.
